When they first appear in the distance after catching Bayonetta's shots, they appear to be wearing a hooded robe that flows along with the magic that gives them their non-corporeal form. Some interesting details about the foe is that they are not covered in the strange purple fire all the time. They lunge forward and appear to split apart before the screen turns white. The bullets are split apart and dissected before the enemy then teleports towards the camera. All further referencing the first game.Īfter Bayonetta fires her attack, the bullets are caught mid-air by the new foe, drenched in purple magical energy. Bayonetta has a lot of rose motifs in how she bleeds, in her original outfit having a rose pattern on it, as well as her moments regarding the language of flowers. In the Bayonetta 3 teaser, the bullets have the pattern of a rose instead. In both of the original teasers for the first two games, the bullets also have a distinct cross pattern etched into the tip. In particular, she fires seven of them, the same number as she fired in the original Bayonetta teaser (she fires countless amounts in the Bayonetta 2 teaser). The biggest thing that people have noticed is that Bayonetta is missing her beauty mark, something that Hideki Kamiya has gone on record saying that it is something that witches only get when they've undergone "some kind of experience that's very important to them."Īnother thing to mention are the bullets that Bayonetta fires. She is missing both of her earrings, the sleeves of hair do not have the chain patterns of the medallions that hang from them and she only has one ribbon hanging from her hair (perhaps the one that ripped in the opening explains this?). Bayonetta is not showing any of her usual confidence, she is fighting desperately to survive.īayonetta's model in this particular section is very interesting because she is missing a lot of details that her original look had. Her expression is also deadly serious and even pained, directly contradicting how she appears in the teaser for the first game. Through the brief flashes of light from her shots, we can see that her face is bloodied and scratched. Unlike the past teasers, there are clearly weather conditions of rain and wind as we can see water droplets suspended in mid-air when she fires.

She is then attacked three more times before she is able to right herself to try and fight back.Īs Bayonetta takes aim at whatever is attacking her, she is able to activate Witch Time and create a barrage of bullets. The Umbran seal is then split apart as a wave of energy knocks the guns away and forces Bayonetta back. The guns are named Whittingham Fair, the name of a sister ballad to Scaborough Fair, but that is the only difference between both sets of weapons. We then cut to a shot of Bayonetta's guns, pressed together to form the Umbran seal that makes up their design in a defensive gesture, something seen in both the games and Bloody Fate.

A single ribbon that matches Bayonetta's own floats towards the camera before ripping itself in two, as heard from the sound of tearing fabric.

As Platinum's logo appears, the entire scene turns blood red, as though it is dripping from the top of the screen over the camera. The trailer begins with the signature moon of the Bayonetta series. So first, let's establish some particular details that the teaser trailer for Bayonetta 3 has, some of which have been noticed, some of which haven't been discussed much. This is a big read, but this is the most in depth analysis of the teaser that I can come up with and I hope it may cause some more theorising! It may not have any solid answers, but it's some things to consider. I have already posted up part of my speculations on the Bayonetta wiki, so I thought I'd share on here as well.
